Yoga and mindfulness have been shown to improve both physical and mental health in school-age children (ages 6 to 12). Yoga improves balance, strength, endurance, and aerobic capacity in children. Yoga and mindfulness offer psychological benefits for children as well. A growing body of research has already shown that yoga can improve focus, memory, self-esteem, academic performance, and behaviour, and can even reduce anxiety and stress

Our Primary school classes can be tailored to suit the needs of your individual school, ranging from whole school incursions, to weekly lunch time classes, or as an inclusive alternative to regular competitive sport. We can also tailor the themes of our classes to match and support learning outcomes of the current QLD curriculum.

Secondary school

Adolescents in Australia today, can experience very high levels of stress in a secondary school setting. There is a marked increase in anxiety and depression among young adults, and the mounting pressure they face across all facets of life is alarming. Adolescence is also a critical age in which emotional patterns are established and often carried into adulthood, so it's essential that we give them the best possible grounding. Practical and proven tools, such as yoga, breathing awareness and mindfulness meditation, are a wonderful gifts to give this special population of future leaders. Recent studies have shown time and time again, a marked difference in the outcomes of youth who practice yoga regularly, compared to other forms of exercise, Yoga participants show increases in emotional regulation, memory function, self esteem and decreased anxiety, not mention the vast physical benefits such as improvements in posture, flexibility and strength.

Our secondary school program can be tailored to suit the needs of your particular school, with a variety of options such as before and after school sessions held on campus, lunch time classes and as a non competitive SEL addition to a PE curriculum.

Yoga classes for the whole family offer the opportunity for children and parents alike to relax, strengthen, have fun and get emotionally and physically fit together. Above all, it allows families to reconnect and reset, to slow the pace of our increasingly frantic family lives.
